On this TWiki page, I'd like to collect the various systems and links to instructions that we provide so that new members of the collaboration can get started. Please feel free to sent questions or comments to Peter Winter.

Twiki access

Many of the following instructions that I refer to are either on the TWiki pages of the MuSun experiment or in the eLogs. So, it's good to get started with that. To obtain access to the TWiki pages you need to:

  1. Have a TWiki account. To register please go to the TWiki registration page and fill out the registration form. For the WikiName, people usually chose FirstnameLastname, i.e. in my case, I have 'PeterWinter'
  2. Once you have your WikiName, one of the current members of the according experiment group (MusunGroup, MucapGroup, ....) has to add you on the TWiki to the group. So, either tell a member of the TWiki group at your local institution to add you or send an email with your WikiName to the UW people (Peter Winter, Peter Kammel or Michael Murray) and tell them to which experiment group you'd like to be added.
  3. Once that is done, you can read the private TWiki pages associated with this group.

In general, a good starting point to find links to the webpages, elogs or other TWiki instruction pages, you can look at the experiments main TWiki page:

Elog @ UW

Both during the experiments at PSI and the analysis back in the US or elsewhere, we tend to keep notes in the electronic logbook system eLog. The MuSun eLog can be found at this webpage. Most of the logbooks are protected. In order to read these, you first have to register. For the MuSun elog, this you can do at the registration page. For some of our elogs systems, you'll have immediate access once you put in your information, for some it might require the confirmation of the elog administrator. If your user login doesn't work after a day, please feel free to email Peter Winter or Peter Kammel

Webpages

Links to the experiments webpages are usually posted on the main TWiki page of the experiment (see above). However, I can give direct links here as well:

Some of the links to subdirectories on these webpages are password protected. Since we have accrued a variety of different user/password combinations for the various experiments., you need to ask one of your local collaborators to tell you the information for the specific page or Peter Winter or Peter Kammel.

CVS

Many of our documents (papers, reports, ...) and more importantly our analysis software for MuSun and MuCap are kept in CVS. So, if you want to download it to your local computer, you'll need to get access to the server first. Here are two links that will give you the necessary information to obtain that:

Email lists

We have email lists to distribute information among the collaborations. Information on the existing email distribution lists and how to use those are found at Twiki email list instruction page.

If you have questions, please email Peter Winter (for Mucap and Musun) or Michael Murray (for Musun).

MySQL database

Once we migrated the mySQL database from Illinois to UW, I'll add the discription on howto use the system.

Elog @ UKY

Volodya uses his own system at UKY to store the notes, https://gluon.pa.uky.edu/bloknot/musun. I understand that it is not nice that the information is scattered between various sources (Web, TWiki, ELog, and now UKY), but a local system for notekeeping at UKY is more convenient for the Analyzer. Also, one can easily tweak a home-made system for various needs. Some useful links withing that system: Run manual, DAQ notes. Valid username and password are required to access the information. One can use musun login for general purpose.

Hints: use the icon dtree-16x16.png to switch between plain and contents-type folder view, or use the icon tree_mode.png to toggle tree view mode. For questions, please contact Volodya.
