Introduction

The main hardware documentation for the ePC can be found on MuCap detector page and the on the
DAQ page for Comet. Below are recent updates.

Comet

Information kindly provided by Rene Prieels in June 2010. See this directory. Rene included the following description.

Dear Peter,

The technician in LLN gathered all things concerning the compressor and its controller. This makes a volume of 114 MB. Compressed, it still has 42 MB.

It contains 8 directories:

Loading the controller

- dcc51 : which contains the C program fils.c and routines to be compiled and loaded via theR232 line into the controller each time you wish to modify the compressor program for the FPGAs. The file 64fils.ttf generated by Maxplus (see below) is included in fils.c (see line 26). The C compiler from TASKING or any other, must then generate an ASCII Hexadecimal file: i.e. 64fils.hex . This one is then loaded into the flash memory of the controller with the program WinISP from Phillips through the RS232 port..

Files to generate PCBs for the controller and the compressors

- Eagle-> 64fils : which contains the *.sch and/or *.brd and the files to to be read by the Eagle software. The main ones are : 64fils.brd and/or 64fils.sch for the compressor and master.brd and/or master.sch for the controller . N.B the prefix pa_ hold for front panel (panneau avant in french) an pb_ for back panel.

- Eagle-> 64fils ->DOC : drawings of the controller and controller board and technical sheets

- Eagle-> 64fils ->pdf : drawings of the compressor, controller and pulser board, scheme, and FPGA programs.

Files to generate FPGA programs in both controller and compressors

- Maxplus ->64fils : which contains the software that will run into each compressor. Il will be loaded firstly into a permanent flash memory sitting inside the controller via a loading procedure using the RS232 connection of the front panel (see here up). At start the content of this memory will be copied into both FPGAs of each compressor unit.

- Maxplus->ctrl : which contains the software that will run into the controller FPGA. It has a permanent memory. It is loaded once into the controller through a side connector on the board. It can be reloaded if needed.

Files to generate PCBs for the pulser

- Pulser : it contains the .brd and .sch files needed to build the PCB patch to be soldered on top of the first generation of pulser included on the boards; 2 per controller unit.
