    • PAC email by Claude:

Dear all,

on Thursday, FEB-18, Peter and Sasha made an important open presentation
on the status of the musun experiment at the BV41 users meeting
(program see http://ltp.web.psi.ch/user_information/Program41-1.pdf ).

The written report which we submitted as well as the open presentation
was very well received by the scientific committee and our beam
requests for 2010 were accepted, although we could not get the last
production cycle in December 2010. So our allocated beamtimes in 2010
are as follows:

April-30 to May-24, 2010: 3.5 weeks for a commissioning run at the
piE3 beam. The apparatus can be setup in the piE3 area prior
to this period.

October-7 to November-29, 2010: 8-weeks for a first production run
at the piE3 beam.

It was again stated that 2011 will be the last year for us to use
the piE3 beam, because after that year the area will be dedicated
to a new high-field muSR-facility.

For this reason, a test week in area piE1 is scheduled in
August-30 to September-6, 2010 to demonstrate the suitability
of the piE1 beam for musun runs after 2011.

We like to thank all collaborators for the preparation of the
progress report and the effort in preparing the presentations!

With best regards

Sasha, Peter and Claude
